MORE franchisors from Luzon are encouraged to expand in Mindanao for its growing market through participating in the franchising expo activities.

“Mindanao is still a growing market, so it is good for Manila companies to expand here. We encouraged them to come to Mindanao and at the same time we encouraged Mindanaoan franchisors to expand in Luzon to make their brand national,” RK Franchise Consultancy founder Rudolf Kotik said Friday, June 28, during the opening of the 14th Mindanao Franchise Expo at the Abreeza Ayala Mall.

He said majority of the 42 exhibitors are from Luzon and they hoped more will participate in their annual activities for more business opportunities.

“This is a very good opportunity for people who have money to invest. We find the right franchise for them, one that fits their budget and their location,” he said.

Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Davao assistant director Edwin Banquerigo, who was also present during the event, urged the people to consider franchising as it poses lower chance of business failure.

While he still encouraged entrepreneurs to create their own business concepts, he said franchising is a “quick start” given that the product, the business process, the management style and technology, and the marketing support are all ready to use.

“Those who would like to start a business but they do not know how to start, franchising has what it takes to start a business,” Banquerigo said.

Last year, the event recorded more than 5,000 visitors and they expect more will be coming this year.

“The three-day event gained a lot of visitors. I hope people visit this time because franchising has a lot of advantages. When you buy a franchise, you get to have something that is already proven and profitable,” Kotik said. (LHC)
