MCIA brings back 'Sales Mission' in VisMin

AFTER two years of hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Mactan Cebu International Airport (MCIA) brought back its face-to-face Sales Mission at the Acacia Hotel Davao on Wednesday, August 2.

Targeting to bring back the crowd and vigor it had pre-pandemic, MCIA brought more airline partners together to meet with travel agents and tour operators in the regions of Visayas and Mindanao. It also aims to foster stronger connections and improved services in the region.

"We are thrilled to resume our face-to-face Sales Mission in Davao. The Sales Mission provides us with excellent opportunity to reconnect with our stakeholders and further enhance the travel experience of our passengers through connectivity, especially in the Visayas and Mindanao regions,"said Lissa Aines Librodo, MCIA Head of Airline Marketing and Tourism Development.

Serving as a platform for airline partners to showcase their services, MCIA began the Sales Mission in 2018 to notify tourist stakeholders of recent advancements at MCIA and organize networking sessions with travel agents and tour operators. This initiative started in cities including Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Bacolod, Iloilo, and Tacloban.

As of 2023, MCIA operates four Philippine-based carriers and 18 international carriers, with China Eastern Airlines to resume daily flights to Shanghai on July 14, 2023. Additionally, MCIA has connections to 12 foreign and 27 domestic destinations.

Eight airlines were present during the Sales Mission including Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific Air, AirAsia Philippines, Cathay Pacific, Emirates, EVA Air, Starlux, and Turkish Airlines. DSCA
