TO ENTICE more tourists to come to Davao City, more major events must be conducted, a business leader said.
Arturo Milan, Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCCI) president, underscored the importance of events in enticing more local and foreign tourists to come to Davao City to enjoy the city’s festivities.
“Siguro dagdagan pa natin ang mga major events sa city para mas marami ang mga turista na gustong pumunta dito sa Davao (I think we must add major events in the city so that more tourists would like to visit Davao),” Milan said, adding that this can make Davao City more known aside from the common festivities Davao has already been famous with through the years.
Milan said aggressive efforts must be made in generating new ideas on inviting more people to come to Davao.
“There must be a compelling reason as to why they would want to come and experience Davao,” Milan said.
Milan added the air connectivity in mobilizing people coming here in Davao is already a good start in boosting the tourism sector of the city.
“But we must not wait for the tourists to come here already,” Milan said, adding that the business chamber has already conducted meetings in raising the goal of intensifying tourism promotion in the city.
Milan added tourism packages must also be reassessed to locate what specific sites tourists can go once they reach Davao City.
He also said that Davao City can also be a jumping-off point in going to different tourist destinations in Davao region like Samal Island and beaches in Mati. (GAD)
