THE Presidential Assistant for Eastern Mindanao (Opamine) advocated for environmentally-friendly infrastructure in Mindanao during the Philconstruct Mindanao 2023 event opening Thursday morning, September 7, at SMX Lanang.

In his address, Presidential Assistant for Eastern Mindanao Leo Tereso Magno attributed the booming construction industry in Mindanao to the efforts of former President Rodrigo Roa-Duterte, a legacy continued by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

"As we all know, Mindanao is a beautiful place, and all of us Mindanaons are hoping that we can preserve that beauty amidst the innovations," Magno said.

The expo showcased advancements in the construction sector, featuring cutting-edge global technology.

Using this technology, Magno emphasized the potential to develop infrastructures that sustain and protect natural surroundings.

He also acknowledged the significant role of the Philippine Constructors Association, Inc. (PCA) in the Philippine construction sector.

"Construction equates to development and development equates to economic stability. Your role in the private sector is a big help for us in the government. Your group now has become a partner for nation-building that embodies excellence," he said.

Over the past three days, the expo presented the latest products, technologies, and innovations from 120 exhibitors. As the largest construction trade show in the country, it demonstrated the sector's commitment to progress.

The event offered various brands and suppliers a platform to showcase their products, including light and heavy equipment, construction chemicals, components, air ducts, trucks, automobiles, building supplies, and gen-sets.

In addition to the exhibits, the expo featured seminars and workshops on topics such as "Enhancing Direction Towards Climate Change Mitigation and Community Welfare," "Essentials of Supervisory Leadership," and "Formworks Design and Basic Calculation." RGP
