Senator-elect Camille Villar was officially sworn into office on Friday in a private ceremony at her family residence.

Her mother, Senator Cynthia Villar, administered the oath. In her message, Villar expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve at the national level and reaffirmed her commitment to advocate for key sectors of society.

“This marks a new chapter in my service to the Filipino people,” she said. “I am ready to work hard and pursue legislation that benefits children, women, and our growing community of entrepreneurs.”

A former representative of Las Piñas in the House of Representatives, Villar brings both legislative experience and private sector leadership to the Senate.

Her priorities include improving access to mental health care, expanding education and healthcare services for women, promoting affordable housing, and boosting support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Villar said she is focused on inclusive and sustainable development, aiming to address current challenges while building on her past work in Congress and her involvement in various business and civic initiatives.

Political observers note that her entry into the Senate brings a youthful and pragmatic perspective, with an expected emphasis on forward-looking, community-driven solutions.

As she begins her six-year term, Villar emphasized her commitment to working with fellow lawmakers to craft responsive and impactful legislation for all Filipinos. PR
