THE Coast Guard District Southeastern Mindanao (CGDSEM) has intensified maritime safety operations in the Davao Region ahead of the Holy Week observance, deploying a total of 939 personnel across its seven stations and 51 substations as part of Oplan Byaheng Ayos: Semana Santa 2026. The move aims to ensure the safety, security, and convenience of travelers during this peak travel period.
Under the directives of Commandant Admiral Ronnie Gil L. Gavan PCG (CPCG), the Coast Guard has placed ports, ferry terminals, and coastal areas under heightened alert. Deployed personnel are tasked with conducting round-the-clock monitoring, enforcing maritime safety regulations, assisting passengers, and coordinating closely with local government units and partner agencies.
The operation includes strict vessel inspections, passenger assistance desks, and emergency response readiness to address any potential contingencies. The CGDSEM assured the public that it remains fully committed to safeguarding lives and maintaining order in all maritime transportation hubs during this period of increased travel activity.
