Custodio: Thoughts while in transit

I AM currently in transit. Checked out from the hotel and going home to our place in ever ma-traffic Manila.

It was just as I sat down inside the van that I realized that I have not written an article yet.

Mind you, I always write at the last minute but even when I do that, I at least have a running thought on my mind as to what I'm going to write about.

This time I don't.

I have been busy running around and getting things done that given this much welcomed respite from the rat race has somehow erase thinking about my article from my mind.

I am sure you would agree how good it feels to wake up one morning without really having to get up to start your day so early. Haay kasarap, di ba?

I was so happy just being able to stay in bed for once, glad to see the world go on without me. But, break over! Like cold water dumped on me from above, I remember the article that I need to do.

So I am writing this in transit from Point A and Point B.

For once, I am glad that Manila has traffic!!!

We would always want time on our side, don't we? I would! It makes things so much easier! That's not happening though, so we need to learn to adjust.

When time isn't our friend, we need to learn to hustle and make things work! When we hurry to where we are going we miss out on a lot of the finer details that make life more precious. When we go fast we also have the tendency to be hit harder out of sheer force and speed that we have managed to build up.

Sometimes we get derailed from our paths due to the challenges that we meet along life’s tracks. It will happen whether we like it or not so we need to be prepared and flexible.

I tried hard to finish this article in the forty minutes it took me to get home and I wasn't able to do it. There wasn't enough time for me and I had to many distractions! But it's okay.

Through the years I have learned to accept these realities with a grain of salt.

Yes it’s true, we can't always win so we might as well remember the lessons life teaches so that we can fight our battles better. Some opportunities seemed heaven sent but there are times when things still go wrong horribly.

Take a deep breath and try not to panic! All we need is to keep it cool, reassess and not fret about the small stuff (and some of the larger ones).

Let's just think of these as learnings that will help us deal with similar situations in the future. I did manage to submit this article on time (okay, by about 25 minutes) and I was pretty happy about it despite all the stress it brought me!

So, all is well! In the end, we still win and learn, right?

The most important thing is that we learned and we never stop trying!

Happy Sunday Everyone! :)
