RESIDENTS of the Davao Region are advised to prepare for unsettled weather as the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) continues to affect southern Mindanao, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported.

In its latest bulletin on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, PAGASA said Davao Occidental, Davao del Sur, and Davao Oriental will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms throughout the day. These conditions are caused by the ITCZ, a band of converging trade winds that often bring heavy rainfall.

The public is urged to stay alert as moderate to heavy rains may trigger flash floods or landslides, especially in flood-prone and mountainous areas.

Other parts of southern Mindanao—including the Zamboanga Peninsula, Soccsksargen, and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (Barmm)—are also expected to experience similar weather.

Meanwhile, the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) brings cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms to parts of Luzon such as the Ilocos Region, Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Abra, Zambales, Bataan, and Palawan. PAGASA warns of possible flash floods and landslides in these areas due to sustained rainfall.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, with localized flooding and landslides possible in vulnerable areas.

The rest of the country can expect partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated rain showers from localized thunderstorms.

Pagasa continues to monitor weather systems and urges the public to stay updated through official channels. DEF
