DABAWENYA gymnast Aluna Margaux Uy Labrador earned a coveted spot in the national training pool following her five-medal performance at the recent Gymnastics Association of the Philippines (GAP) Challenge held at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium recently.

Representing Davao City, Labrador secured two silver medals in the vault and floor events of the Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) competition. She also bagged three bronzes, including one in the Individual All-Around (IAA) category—an event that determines national rankings and serves as a qualifier for aspiring national athletes.

With her feat, Labrador has a greater chance of representing the Philippines in future international competitions.

The rising gymnast has also been named to the developmental pool, alongside five other top-performing athletes from the GAP Challenge. As she enters this new phase, Labrador will train and compete with the country’s top gymnasts, many with international experience.

Her achievement not only highlights her dedication to the sport but also brings pride and recognition to Davao City. PR
