THE Davao City Library and Information Center (DCLIC) Mobile Library visited about 100 schools and barangays in 2024.
Arniel Enoc, DCLIC Bookmobile and Disaster Education Head, said that from January to December 2024, they visited 141 schools and barangays in Davao City, as well as city jails, Lingap Center, and homes for the elderly.
Of the 141 visits, 88 were to public schools, 38 to daycare centers, nine to private schools, and six were special visits to the city jails and other community areas.
“Ang among services diay sa amoang mobile kay naa ni siy’ay storytelling, book reading, naa mi mascot, puppet show, naa tay disaster preparedness and orientation sa mga grade five to grade six and high school then naa pod tay basic first aid,” he said during the ISpeak Media Forum on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at the City Mayor’s Office (CMO).

Enoc added that since January 2025, they have served around 15 schools and are expecting to serve more schools and community centers in the coming months.
He said that from Monday to Thursday, the mobile libraries visit public schools and barangays, while they reserve Fridays for visiting private schools, Lingap Centers, and homes for the elderly.
Enoc said that public schools wishing to coordinate with them can do so through the Department of Education (DepEd), while private schools can send a letter expressing their intent and email it to dcl@davaocity.gov.ph.
Currently, DCLIC operates three mobile libraries: the Disaster Education mobile, which serves elementary and high school students; the Green Bus, which serves students from grades three to six; and the Blue Bus, which is for nursery children. RGP
