DAVAO City is set to crown its next Reyna ng Davao on June 20, 2025, at the RMC Petro Gazz Arena, one of the major highlights of this year’s Duaw Davao Festival.
Now in its second edition, the pageant features 20 official candidates representing different barangays, all competing for the titles of Reyna ng Davao 2025, Reyna ng Kapayapaan, and Reyna ng Pagkakaisa.
The event serves as a platform to showcase not only the beauty and talent of Davaoeñas but also their advocacies and community involvement. Organizers said the pageant celebrates the diversity and spirit of women in Davao City, beyond the usual pageant glitz and glamor.
The selection process began with online applications, followed by a screening at Rogen Inn on May 23, an orientation and workshop on May 28, and the sashing ceremony on May 31 at Gaisano Citygate.
Pageant activities include a tourism runway video presentation on June 11, preliminaries on June 16 at Ayala Malls Abreeza, and the coronation night on June 20.
These events are part of the Duaw Davao Festival, which runs from June 5 to 29 with the theme “Definitely Davao City.” Coinciding with Pride Month, the festival highlights the city’s dynamic tourism, vibrant culture, and inclusive communities.
More than just entertainment, Duaw Davao is a tourism-driven initiative by the Davao City Tourism Operations Office (CTOO) aimed at boosting local tourism and showcasing Davao’s unique offerings.
In 2024, Davao saw a significant rise in tourist arrivals—from 1.2 million in 2023 to 1.8 million. The city now targets 2.5 million visitors in 2025, with the Duaw Festival expected to play a key role in achieving that goal.
Alongside the pageant, the festival features events such as the Pride Parade and other cultural showcases designed to attract both local and international visitors.
As the city counts down to June 20, the Reyna ng Davao 2025 coronation night is expected to be a highlight of the month-long celebration, underscoring Davao’s ongoing commitment to inclusivity, heritage, and civic pride. DEF
