NABUNTURAN, Davao de Oro — In an effort to help both job seekers and employers meet their respective needs, the Davao de Oro Public Employment Service Office (Peso) has been actively conducting its job-matching program.
During the Kapihan sa PIA at NCCC Nabunturan, provincial Peso head Miles Atugan said that as a government employment office, they assist the employment hunter in connecting with a wider range of job opportunities, and for employers to find a more efficient and effective way to source suitable employees.
“Ang Peso Office karo mamahimo siyang avenue in which ang nangitag trabaho ug ang nangitag trabahante mag-abot,” Atugan said. (The Peso now is becoming an avenue where the job seekers and the employers meet.)
Since its inception, Peso-Davao de Oro has organized several job fairs and facilitated numerous referrals through its active job seeker database.
In its first quarter report, Peso helped 96 individuals hired in 19 companies. Among these, 56 individuals were hired on the spot during the Bulawan Festival Job Fair on March 7.
Looking ahead, Atugan said that Peso-Davao de Oro aims to strengthen its job matching program by engaging more on social media through an online job posting on Facebook, expanding its partnerships with even more businesses across various sectors, and offering enhanced career guidance and skills development opportunities to job seekers.
Through its dedicated job matching program, Peso-Davao de Oro continues to be the bridge towards economic empowerment and development of a stronger workforce within the province, ensuring that both job seekers and employers find the connections they need. PIA- Davao de Oro. PIA DAVAO
