The Davao City Athletic Association (Dcaa) Meet 2025 officially opened on Monday, February 3, at Davao City National High School (DCNHS) open grounds, with competitions set to begin Tuesday, February 4, across various venues.
Nearly 6,000 athletes from eight participating units will battle for top honors and coveted slots in the Davao Region Athletic Association (Davraa) Meet 2025, scheduled for March 9-14 in Davao del Norte.
Department of Education (DepEd) Davao City Division superintendent Reynante Solitario, in his message, underscored the athletes’ mission saying,
Athletes, the challenge is set before you. Let this meet be the proving ground where we refine our skills, strengthen our resolve, and push ourselves beyond what we thought possible. Let us train and compete with one goal in mind: to bring the Davao Region to even greater heights in national sports. We are not just here to participate—we are here to dominate, to excel, and to make history.
However, he also reminded Dabawenyo athletes that beyond medals and rankings, “True champions are defined not just by their victories but by their character.”
As you compete in various events in the upcoming days, may you uphold the values of integrity, respect, and fairness, knowing that true victory is not just about winning medals and trophies but also about the relationships you build and the life lessons you gain along the way.

DepEd Davao regional director Allan Farnazo, meanwhile, challenged Davao City Durians to increase their gold medals in the Palarong Pambansa 2025, reinforcing their status as the dominant Davraa Meet champions.
Although decorated Palaro swimmer Paolo Miguel Labanon is no longer eligible to compete, Farnazo is confident that new swimming champions will emerge from the DCAA Meet, continuing the city’s legacy in the sport.
He commended athletes and coaches for their hard work, stating,
Your performance here is a testament to your preparation and dedication.
