

MINTAL Comprehensive National High School (MCNHS)-led Unit 3 dominated the Davao City Athletic Association (Dcaa) Meet 2025 wushu sanda competition, clinching the overall championship with seven gold and two silver medals at the Sirawan National High School (SNHS) in Toril.
Unit 1 finished second with two golds and six silvers.
Unit 3’s gold medalists and Davraa Meet 2025 qualifiers include Vanelou Conde, Elyzah Martinez, Ivy Ledama, Jasmine Cassandra Tayo, Angelo Cyril Astillo, Shun Senina, Florence Wilvert Cueme, and Carl Dave Santiago.
Conde defeated Unit 1’s Rhea Remoreras in the secondary girls’ category B (42kg) final, while Martinez outclassed Gwen Trixie Villamor (category B, 45kg). Ledama secured gold in category A against Sarah Aquino, and Tayo triumphed over Princess Sarah Monserate (category A, 48kg).
In secondary the boys' division, Astillo (Category B, 42kg) and Cueme (Category A, 48kg) won uncontested golds. Senina claimed victory over Unit 1’s Carl Francis Ortiz (Category B, 48kg), while Santiago overpowered Joseph Nathaniel Panes (Category A, 52kg).
Meanwhile, Unit 1’s Nico Dominguiano (Category B, 45kg) and Clarence Villacastin (Category A, 56kg) also punched their tickets to the Davraa Meet 2025, securing golds by defeating Unit 3’s Matt Ethan Buenacosa and Frenchester Aracena, respectively. MLSA
