TRIGGER WARNING: SENSITIVE STORY
THE Davao City Police Office (DCPO) is currently waiting for the decision of the family of a minor, who allegedly jumped from the 4th floor of an inn along Claro M. Recto avenue in the city, on April 25, 2025, if they would file charges.
According to DCPO spokesperson Police Captain Hazel Tuazon, as of press time, the family has not yet divulged their plan related to the death of their 16-year-old relative.
Earlier, reports revealed that a girl allegedly jumped from a building in Claveria Street (now known as CM Recto avenue), prompting officers from the San Pedro Police Station to respond immediately.
Upon arriving at the scene, police found a fallen girl, who was even hit by a jeepney when she landed on the road.
Records from the inn showed that the girl had checked in on Thursday, April 24, 2025, and was initially assigned to a room on the 3rd floor. It was reported that she went to the 4th floor, climbed the fire exit stairs, and leaped.
The girl was immediately rushed by ambulance to the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC). A medical bulletin earlier reported that she was in critical condition due to major injuries. However, by morning, the DCPO confirmed that the victim had passed away.
Authorities are also investigating possible violations committed by the lodging inn for allowing a minor to check in, while the driver of the Public Utility Jeepney (PUJ) who ran over the victim is temporarily held in police custody.
