INTENSIFIED police operations by the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) from August 3 to 9 led to the arrest of 117 individuals and the confiscation of more than P1.6 million worth of illegal drugs.

According to Acting City Director Col. Mannan Muarip, the DCPO launched 36 anti-drug operations, which resulted in 42 arrests. Authorities recovered 243.0082 grams of shabu valued at over P1.65 million and 51 grams of marijuana worth P6,120.

In its anti-illegal gambling drive, police conducted 15 operations, taking 15 suspects into custody, seizing P6,010 in bet money, and filing 15 cases.

A total of 53 separate law enforcement operations also led to the arrest of 53 offenders, including 18 from the city’s most wanted list.

Meanwhile, 11 crackdowns on loose firearms netted five arrests. Police recovered 10 firearms — five confiscated, two surrendered, and three turned over for safekeeping — resulting in five criminal cases.

“These achievements reflect not only the dedication of the men and women of DCPO but also the strong partnership with the community, barangay officials, and the local government unit,” Muarip stated. “Together, we continue to build a safer and more peaceful Davao City.”
