THE Davao City Water District (DCWD) will be giving one day of free water consumption to qualified customers in their August 2025 billing, as part of the Kadayawan Festival celebration.
“This is our way of celebrating Kadayawan and thanking our customers for their continued support,” said DCWD spokesperson JC Duhaylungsod in a June 13 interview with Davao City Disaster Radio (DCDR).
DCWD first launched this promo during its anniversary on November 9, 2024. After receiving positive feedback, the initiative returns this year, now aligned with Davao City’s grandest annual celebration, the Kadayawan Festival.
To qualify for the one-day free water, customers must have a residential service connection with a ½-inch water meter, a regular (blue) bill for August 2025, and must show an increase of at least one cubic meter in water consumption compared to their July bill. They must also have completed at least one full regular billing cycle.
Unlike the previous edition, which only applied to water consumed on a specific day, this year’s promo will cover the customer’s full billing cycle for August. Duhaylungsod explained that any water consumed during this cycle will automatically include one free day, which will be reflected in the billing statement.
She urged customers to check their billing zone to determine the applicable promo period. The zone is indicated by the two-digit number in the upper right corner of the water bill. For example, Zone 1 covers July 1 to August 1, and Zone 2 from July 2 to August 2, continuing in sequence up to Zone 20, which covers July 25 to August 25.
Knowing the zone allows customers to monitor their usage more closely and time their consumption within the promo period to ensure they benefit from the discount.
Customers who qualify will see a “libra tubing” or free water indicator on their August 2025 bill. Duhaylungsod noted that the office will only be able to confirm eligibility once the billing has been generated. RGP
