THE Digos City Police Station and the Davao del Sur Police Provincial Office have moved to verify and address a lawyer’s allegation of extortion at a checkpoint in Colorado, Digos City.
In an interview with dxDC RMN Davao, “Atty. Marky,” said Police Lieutenant Colonel Glen Ipong, chief of the Digos City PNP, personally visited his office with representatives from the provincial police to confront the issue and begin an investigation.
The lawyer described his complaint as serious and urged that it be addressed properly to prevent similar incidents in the future. He also called on the public to help restore trust in the police and uphold the integrity of the service.
His statement came after he posted on social media claiming that his client was extorted at the checkpoint. He said his goal is to protect the public and ensure justice is served.
SuperBalita Davao has sought comment from the Police Regional Office (PRO) Davao Region, but no official statement has been released as of this writing. The public now awaits the outcome of the investigation and any possible actions against the officers involved. JPC
