THE Department of Labor and Employment-Davao Region (Dole-Davao) announced it will offer around 2,000 job vacancies at the upcoming Kalayaan Job Fair on June 12, 2025.

Lawyer Randolf Pensoy, regional director of Dole-Davao, said a total of 2,453 job openings will be available during the event. Of these, 1,399 are local positions, while 1,054 are for overseas employment. He also shared that about 680 applicants have already pre-registered.

“This coming June 12, Dole will have simultaneous activities or a job fair, and we also have some Dole programs, which are flagship programs of livelihood,” Pensoy said during the Kapehan sa Dabaw forum on Monday morning, June 9, 2025, at SM City Davao.

The top ten local job openings include positions such as customer support staff/service representatives (BPO), cashiers/tellers, customer service assistants/front desk clerks, baggers, service crew/waiters, heavy equipment mechanics, hydraulic mechanics, heavy equipment drivers (backhoe/dump truck), production workers, and civil engineering roles.

For overseas opportunities, the top five vacancies are for branch managers, waiters, welders, registered nurses, and security guards. Job destinations abroad include the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Croatia, and Japan.

Suzette Jane A. Antiveros, focal person for the regional employment program, highlighted a key feature of this year’s job fair: the inclusion of jobs for high school and senior high school graduates. About 886 vacancies from 10 companies are specifically for applicants with a high school-level education.

“We are happy to announce duna natay job vacancies nga nakuha sa kandalahi-lahing mga employers offering positions for high school and senior high

(We are pleased to announce that we have job openings from various employers catering to high school and senior high school graduates)” Antiveros said.

Dole-Davao also reported that this year’s number of job vacancies is lower compared to last year’s Kalayaan Job Fair, which had 4,377 openings. In 2024, 730 job seekers registered, with 487 qualified, 145 near-hired, and 83 hired on the spot (HOTS).

For context, during the May 1, 2025 job fair, Dole offered 6,741 job opportunities, with 638 qualified applicants, 257 near-hired, and 249 hired on the spot. RGP
