THE Davao Region is set to experience the effects of Easterlies on Friday, January 24, 2025, bringing warm and humid conditions, according to Pagasa. These winds from the Pacific Ocean will result in partly cloudy skies, with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms expected in the afternoon and evening.
The state weather bureau predicts that the easterlies will bring partly cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon and evening. Warm temperatures combined with localized thunderstorms may cause occasional heavy rainfall, particularly in coastal and low-lying areas.
Residents in Davao City, Davao del Sur, Davao del Norte, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, and Davao Occidental are encouraged to monitor weather updates and take precautions during periods of heavy rain or thunderstorms.
These easterlies are expected to persist throughout the day, resulting in typical tropical weather conditions, with some areas likely experiencing increased humidity.
Authorities caution the public to remain alert for potential flash floods and landslides in mountainous regions during intense rainfall.
The region is advised to prepare for changing weather conditions as the easterlies continue to affect the climate across southern Mindanao.
Pagasa has confirmed no low-pressure area (LPA) in Mindanao as of the latest update but will continue to monitor developments and issue updates as necessary. DEF
