AFTER two years of hiatus, Davao's hip-hop pride Delinquent Society is making a major comeback this year.

Delinquent Society has been making waves in the music scene since the release of their 2018 debut album "Detour."

In 2021, in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic, the group released "WE R ALL DELINQUENTS."

Delinquent is composed of a young-blooded lineup namely Audible Lecter aka "Aud" (Ulysses “Uly” Agura), Contemplate (Lois Tuanquin), Mellow Marc (Marc Pag-ong), and Fusr (Moses Navidad).

Aud shared with SunStar Davao in an online interview that after the release of their sophomore project, they decided to take a pause and pursue individual endeavors.

"It was in the middle of the pandemic and the world had shut down because of it. There weren't any gigs, shows, and other platforms that we could benefit from financially so we decided to take a break and see how things would play out while living overseas," Aud said.

He added, "I went to Japan and Fusr went to the US. Mellow Marc and Contemplate remained in the Philippines. All of us were trying to survive at that point. It was a crucial point in our careers and as individuals because we learned a lot about ourselves."

Aud recounted how recording "WE R ALL DELINQUENTS" was a tough moment for their career. With the restrictions imposed back then, they weren't able to promote their album at events.

"The whole experience was tough for us because we weren't physically there to promote our project. We couldn't do a show and traveling was restricted so there's not much we can do," he said.

Nonetheless, they did what they could. On their part, they were eager to release it to their fans, which gained positive feedback.

The fans, for sure, won't miss this as they will be staging a comeback on Friday, September 22, 2023 for DELINQUENT2DEATH at Full Bar, Tulip Drive, while on Saturday, September 23, they will be at the Davao Global Township for Spotify and Wish 107.5's Kalye X alongside Morobeats from Zamboanga. This will be their first comeback onstage after three years.

Aud said they are very excited to be performing once again.

"We will end your drought and give you all what you've been waiting for!" he said.

Although he clarified that they are not totally making a comeback.

"Just for the record, we're not back BACK. Maybe we'll just be releasing singles every now and then or maybe another project at least," he said, adding that fans can expect few parties and events for now due to Aud and Fusr's obligations overseas.

Aud assured that the group will be releasing new materials soon. "We already have tons of beats ready and we will work on it for sure!"

"Sonically, we always try our best to improve and top our previous tracks. That will always be the goal for us; to not get stuck in a box and to try to introduce something new to the masses. We don't know how extreme the change would be, it could a little or it could be massive cause it just depends on the vibe that we're on when recording. We won't swear on anything but best believe you will hear something fresh every time!" he added. RGL
