All good things must come to an end.
Sad to say, Davao City’s much-awaited music festival, which has been bringing together a wide range of national and local music artists, will be holding its final grand event this May 31, 2025, at the Crocodile Park open field.
Dubbed as Musica E’ Vita, the Music and Lights Festival will feature artists such as Dionela, Hev Abi, Hale, December Avenue, and Over October. It will be hosted by Kaiser Boado.
“This will be the last chance to witness the magic, the music, the passion, and the story that has captivated hearts all over Davao,” says Musica E’ Vita organizer Angel Selorio Luy.
Angel, together with husband Bonn, founded Bace Productions, which first staged Musica E’ Vita (Music is Life) eight years ago.
The music event proved to be a hit not just among Dabawenyos but people from different places as well, who would visit the city to catch the exciting performers lined up in an MEV event.
Angel says one of their goals when they founded Bace and conceptualized MEV was to help Davao City tourism through the holding of unforgettable music events, which draw in residents and tourists alike.
Among these artists who performed in MEV’s eight glorious years were Bamboo, Ely Buendia, Hale, Ben & Ben, Parokya ni Edgar, KMKZ (Kamikaze), Urbandub, Slapshock, Mayonaise, Al James, and TJ Monterde, among many others from Davao.
Angel says that Bace Productions is looking to go international, hence the farewell.
“As Bace Productions sets sail toward an exciting new international chapter, we must face the bittersweet reality of saying goodbye to Davao, the place where it all began, the home that shaped us, and the community that embraced us,” she writes in her message.
“Let’s make every moment count. Let’s raise our hands, lose ourselves in the music, and celebrate the magic for one last time. This is not just an event. This is our final love letter to you. Let’s make it legendary,” Angel says of MEV’s final chapter in Davao.
