F. BANGOY National High School has clinched its first title as the best school paper in the secondary level in the English medium in the entire Philippines at the 2025 National Schools Press Conference (NSPC).
“We are so thankful for everyone’s contributions to the school paper, especially to our editorial board, who really went beyond the extra mile to look for newsworthy stories, worked hard in finishing their articles, and placed so much effort into beating our deadlines,” school paper adviser Jestene Delos Reyes said.
The school obtained a first-place finish in the Features and in the Layout and Page Design sections, and fifth place in the Science and Technology category.
“We truly wouldn’t be able to be the best school paper in the Philippines and obtain multiple awards without the collaborative efforts of our co-SPAs, fellow teachers, and student editors,” Delos Reyes added.
Meanwhile, F. Bangoy’s Collaborative and Desktop Publishing team – Van Jonas Demetry M. Tayone, Anika G. Mancao, Janelle Kate C. Tinio, Daniella Mae M. Napoles, Charisse Deniel E. Solidum, Vic James M. Ticon, Lei Paolo L. Jallores - also emerged as third place in the secondary level in the English medium.
“I’ve seen the efforts of my fellow coaches and the students, with us even training during the uninterrupted break. So, I’m really grateful and happy that all of our hard work paid off,” Karl Jay Blaquera, the coach of the CDP team, expressed.
