The redesign is a proof that the Davao Region’s leading content provider acknowledges its people’s current reading habits and need - an authoritative source of stories that mattered, and more information they could digest in less time.
“The major changes that we have made are really to make it more interesting to our readers,” Gina Garcia-Atienza, Sun Star Management Inc. President, said.
Going compact, readers might feel they were getting less but with the new design consulted by an internationally-acclaimed newspaper design director Adonis Durado, the SunStar Media Group is confident.
SunStar Davao is now in compact form, telling the community’s stories shorter but never less in quality and content, thus, creating more impact to the community of readers. It also features some degree of interactivity and social media component.
“It’s easier on the eyes because of its modern, visually appealing design. It will target a broader audience by having shorter stories supported by larger photos and infographics,” SunStar Media Group President Julius G. Neri Jr.
This is SunStar’s latest innovation, a completely new design. The print’s look may change but this is still the same SunStar Davao that has been in every person’s consciousness and success.
