Aboitiz Renewables Inc. (ARI), the renewable energy arm of Aboitiz Power Corporation, recently donated medical equipment and supplies to barangay health centers in Albay, Batangas, Davao del Sur, and Bukidnon.
Through its Adopt-a-Health Center program, ARI upgraded health centers in Barangays Joroan, Libtong, and Belen in Albay, and San Felix in Sto. Tomas City, Batangas. With nearly ₱3 million in support, the initiative provided new medical tools, furnishings, essential medicines, and protective gear. “Joroan is fortunate to have Aboitiz Renewables providing support,” said public health nurse Sheena Marie De Leon. “This partnership helps fill gaps the LGU cannot address alone.”
Barangay San Felix Captain Gerry Punzalan added, “We value all the assistance from Aboitiz Renewables. Everything provided will benefit every resident of our barangay.” Since its launch, the program has improved 14 barangay health centers across Albay, Batangas, and Laguna—host communities of ARI’s geothermal facilities—reaching over 84,000 residents.
In Mindanao, ARI also supports access to essential medicines through the Botika ng Bayan program, in partnership with the Aboitiz Foundation and local governments. Nearly ₱500,000 worth of medicines have been distributed in Santa Cruz (Davao del Sur), and the Bukidnon towns of Impasugong and Manolo Fortich. “With this support, we’re better equipped to serve those who need it most,” said Dr. Raygene Manuel, Municipal Health Officer of Santa Cruz. ARI President Jimmy Villaroman emphasized that improving community health is vital to building resilient and thriving communities. PR
