Hundreds of residents of Davao City and nearby areas benefited from the Bayanihan para sa Kalusugan: Serbisyong Handog ng AMSAI – a one-day medical mission held on May 21, 2025, at the AMSAI Gym, Km. 11 in Cabantian.

AMSAI Cabantian, in partnership with the SM Foundation, Inc., Barangay Indangan, Barangay Cabantian, and the Family Planning Organization of the Philippines (FPOP), organized the event, which aimed to provide accessible and quality health services to the community, especially to those with limited access to medical care.

The event offered a wide array of free medical services, including medical and dental checkups, free medicines via on-site pharmacy blood tests (random glucose, cholesterol, uric ccid) x-ray and ECG HIV/Aids testing, prenatal ultrasound, alternative health care consultations, family planning orientation, and reproductive health education seminars.

More than just a medical outreach, the mission was a true bayanihan effort, made possible through the collective dedication of local government units, military support, health professionals, and volunteers.

Acknowledgment of Partners

The success of the medical mission would not have been possible without the unwavering support of various institutions and individuals. Special thanks go to SM Foundation for providing essential medicines, medical equipment, and a mobile laboratory.

Gratitude is also extended to Barangay Indangan and Barangay Cabantian, as well as the BDRRMC teams from both barangays, for their coordination, crowd management, and assistance throughout the event.

The City Health Office of Davao, Department of Health, Health Center Buhangin, and PhilHealth Konsulta were instrumental in delivering quality healthcare through their doctors, nurses, and dentists and session.

The AFP Eastern Mindanao Command, Task Force Davao, Army, Navy, FPOP, and 6TAS ensured the safety, order, and logistical support during the mission while deploying their own medical personnel to assist in the services.

Acknowledgment is also given to the City Government of Davao for issuing the permits and supporting this medical mission.

This joint initiative has made a lasting impact, bringing essential health services directly to the people who seldom have access to such care. It stands as a shining example of how partnerships and community spirit can uplift lives.

“We believe that through unity and service, we can make healthcare accessible for everyone,” Nerlyn of AMSAI said. “This mission is not just about treatment, but about giving hope.
