On June 7, 2025, the Size Doesn’t Matter Art Exhibit opened at the 1159 Creative Space Gallery in Makati. As its cheeky title suggests, this exhibit proves that big ideas don’t always need big canvases. Every piece in this show measures only 4R in size (4 by 6 inches), yet each one is packed with creativity, detail, and expression.
A call for submissions brought together a dynamic mix of artists from across the country. I had the honor of representing Davao in this unique gathering of talent. Unfortunately, I couldn’t be there in person, but I sent my six pieces ahead — miniature renditions of traditional Mindanaon blouses, done in acrylic on paper, celebrating the vibrant weaves and patterns of my beloved region.
Despite its physical size, this exhibit is massive in heart, spirit, and artistry. From abstract to surreal, cultural to contemporary, every piece tells a story in just a few inches of space. More than just an exhibit, Size Doesn’t Matter reminds us that art’s impact isn’t measured by dimensions — it’s about message, emotion, and connection.
