Ford Philippines rolled out its first-ever hybrid SUV in the country on Friday, August 8, 2025, bringing the new Territory Hybrid to Mindanao with simultaneous unveilings in Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Tagum, General Santos, Zamboanga, and Dipolog cities.
The Davao launch, held at the new wing of SM City Davao, introduced two variants: the Trend priced at ₱1,399,000 and the top-of-the-line Titanium X at ₱1,599,000.
The hybrid model combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with an electric motor and a dedicated hybrid transmission, delivering strong performance while cutting fuel consumption and emissions. It’s designed to shift seamlessly between gasoline and electric power, making it just as capable in city driving as it is on long provincial trips.
“This is not just a smart choice — it’s the right one,” said Divina Gracia Jam Y. Quinoy, Ford Philippines’ assistant vice president and general manager for Mindanao, during the unveiling. “The Territory Hybrid is engineered to fit the lifestyle and needs of the modern Mindanaoan, offering performance, comfort, and sustainability in one package.”
Quinoy said Mindanao’s appetite for hybrids has been stronger than expected. “We were surprised by how big the market is here for EVs and hybrids,” she shared in a media interview. “We already have demo and display units across Mindanao and have started invoicing and deliveries this month. Pre-orders are coming in from Davao, CDO, Tagum, Gensan, Zamboanga, and Dipolog.”
The Territory Hybrid is Ford’s first hybrid in the Philippine market, debuting on the same day the brand launched the all-electric Mustang Mach-E in Manila. It comes equipped with EV mode capability, Ford Co-Pilot360 driver-assist technology, and a roomy interior that Quinoy says offers “more legroom than the Everest,” making it ideal for long trips.
Quinoy also expressed hope that local governments and fuel retailers will invest in charging stations to support EV adoption. “Gasoline stations will be the ones most affected by this shift, so if they can invest in charging stations, it will benefit everyone. Hopefully by 2026, we’ll see more of them across the country.”
Test drives are now available at Ford showrooms, including Ford Davao at KM 7, Lanang. Units can be delivered within one to two weeks, with freight included in the price. MLSA
