DAVAO Golden Twist Gymnastics launched its first mall-based summer clinic at Ayala Malls Abreeza on June 23, 2025, offering free gymnastics training sessions until June 27.
Now in its third year, the city’s first gymnastics club partnered with Abreeza to bring the sport closer to the public and encourage more children to participate. This is the first time the club has held a clinic inside a commercial establishment.
Club president Janet Sangutan said the organization partnered with Abreeza to hold the summer clinic.
She said that the event aims to raise public awareness about the club and highlight the benefits of gymnastics.
“They will learn strength, flexibility, body coordination, and confidence,” Sangutan said.
Abreeza reached out to the club in May to organize the event. Together, they launched a registration promo: interested participants can join the clinic for free by presenting a ₱1,500 purchase receipt from any Abreeza store, or ₱3,000 from the supermarket, to the concierge.
Open to children aged three and up, the clinic welcomes all skill levels. "There’s no age limit. But there’s an age minimum lang na three years old pataas,” Sangutan said.
Golden Twist is accredited by the Gymnastics Association of the Philippines and aims to provide quality training with qualified coaches. Sangutan, who founded the club to support her daughter’s dream of becoming a gymnast, underscored the importance of both a good training environment and strong mentorship in the sport.
“We want to inspire more children to try gymnastics—and hopefully, discover a passion they can pursue,” she said. Hannah Katrina Marisse Martinez, AdDU Intern
