THE Hugpong sa Tawong Lungsod Party (HTLP), led by the influential Duterte family, expressed deep gratitude to Davaoeños following a sweeping victory in the May 2025 National and Local Elections. In a statement, the party called the results a “resounding affirmation of principled leadership, genuine public service, and grassroots governance.”
“This sweeping mandate is not simply a win for HTL—it is a triumph of public trust and a declaration that the Davaoeño people continue to believe in a leadership that listens, acts, and delivers,” the statement read.
HTLP also praised voters for resisting what it described as “coordinated disinformation, resource-driven coercion, and brazen attempts to manipulate the electoral process.” The party said the outcome sent a strong message against political deceit and interference.
HTLP dominated the elections, winning all major posts in Davao City: mayor, vice mayor, all three congressional seats, and the entire city council.
Former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, currently detained at the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague over alleged human rights violations during his presidency, made a political comeback with a landslide win for Davao City mayor. He garnered 662,630 votes—far ahead of rival Karlo Nograles, who received 80,852 votes.
His son, Sebastian “Baste” Duterte, secured the vice mayoralty with 651,356 votes, defeating Bernie Al-Ag (78,893 votes).
In the congressional races, the Duterte family extended its political hold. Paolo “Pulong” Duterte retained the first District seat with 203,557 votes against House Deputy Majority Leader Margarita “Migs” Nograles (49,186 votes). Pulong’s son, Omar Duterte, won the second district seat with 160,432 votes over Javi Garcia Campos (90,156), while Duterte ally Isidro Ungab dominated the 3rd District with 178,721 votes, besting Nonoy Al-Ag (30,687).
Rodrigo “Rigo” Duterte II, Pulong’s younger son, also topped the 1st District councilor race with 192,324 votes—further cementing the family's influence over Davao City’s local governance.
Looking ahead, HTLP pledged to serve with integrity and compassion, promising inclusive development and stronger community engagement.
“To our volunteers, supporters, and every Davaoeño who voted, stood watch, and spoke the truth—we share this victory with you,” the party concluded. “Padayon ta sa serbisyo. Padayon ta sa tinuod nga pagpanerbisyo (Let us continue to serve. Let us continue with genuine public service).” DEF
