Jeorge Andrade, Yahchevah Daligdig clinch Dream Run Davao 30K titles

Joerge Andrade of Kapatagan, Digos City, and Yahchevah Daligdig of Kidapawan City emerged champions in the 30K event of the EastWest Dream Run 2025 Davao leg, held Sunday, April 6, on an out-and-back course starting from Azuela Cove in Lanang, Davao City. The event attracted over 4,000 participants.

Andrade ruled the men’s 30K category, finishing with a time of 1 hour, 52 minutes, and 39 seconds. He outpaced Rino Rino Santitigan, who came in second at 1:56:23, and Paul James Zafico, who finished third at 1:58:56.

In the women’s division, 23-year-old Daligdig clocked 2:31:05 to take the top spot, beating Aslia Hadji Nassef (2:41:32) and Sonia Khu (2:50:58). A seasoned runner, Daligdig has been competing for 14 years.

(I didn't expect to get first place, as my main goal was to finish strong)," Daligdig said in an interview with SunStar Davao. "I really feel blessed and overwhelmed po lalo na sa mga taong sumusuporta kahit di ko po kilala. Di ko po sila ma isa-isa, Ma'am, pero thankful po talaga ako sa lahat lalo na po sa mga sumupurta sa small business ko po (I feel blessed and overwhelmed, especially by the people who support me even though I don’t personally know them. I can’t mention each of them, Ma’am, but I’m genuinely thankful to everyone, especially those who support my small business."

She added that her daily training isn’t just about winning races and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Daligdig hopes to inspire others to try running or walking, as she believes it has a powerful impact on physical and mental well-being.

Winners all

In the 10K division, Jimboy Lugay claimed the men’s title with a time of 33:52, beating John Kenneth Tadle (35:09) and multi-titled Elmer Bartolo of Calinan, Davao City (35:30). On the women’s side, Wenjie Lugayao took top honors in 53:05, finishing ahead of Roxanne Boltiador (54:43) and Catherine Quieta (54:57).

Freitz Abraham Cabanig and Davao City’s Mary Jane Pagayon topped the 5K race. Cabanig clocked in at 16:44, outpacing Aron Gumban (17:56) and James David Langca-ag (18:16). Pagayon, meanwhile, crossed the finish line at 19:54, ahead of Janel Cabiles (23:27) and Renalyn Lausan (23:52).

In the 2K Kids category, Samuel Phillean Ocon won the boys’ race in 10:50, followed by Amir Kian Buensuceso (11:00) and Eijan Yusuf Lugayao (13:57). Daniela Maureen Lausan captured the girls’ title in 11:21, besting Regina Fabienne F. Englisa (12:31) and Cassie Mureen Montecillo (12:37).

The 1K Fur Buddy run saw Angeli Gonzales’ dog take the female crown with a time of 5:31, edging out furry competitors owned by Francesca Dianne Solis (5:54) and Rochelle Marie Solis-Carpio (5:58). In the male division, Carlito Sausal Jr.’s dog won in 4:40, just ahead of Greg Estuart’s (4:41) and Brian Estillore’s (5:04).

Organized by Run Rio Inc. in partnership with Kenneth Sai’s Kinetix Sports, the EastWest Dream Run series will continue at City Di Mare in Cebu on May 4, 2025, and conclude at Filinvest Alabang in Manila on June 15, 2025. It is being held to celebrate the bank’s 30th anniversary. MLSA
