OFFICIALS of Barangay 76-A in Davao City are seeking justice for the death of a lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) group member whom they supported and recognized as a good resident of their community.

Barangay officials and father-daughter tandem Captain Robert Olanolan and Councilor Reah Olanolan personally took action by visiting the Baliok Police Station on Friday, August 8, 2025, to gather information regarding the mysterious death of alias “El El.

El El was an active member of the LGBT community known for being approachable and ready to help at any time of need.

According to the officials, they have yet to speak with the investigator handling the case and the victim’s relatives to obtain the proper direction for the case and to understand El El’s real cause of death.

It was learned that the victim’s lifeless body was discovered inside an abandoned house in Barangay Baliok on July 23, 2025.

Based on the initial investigation into the victim’s body, the captain and councilor believe there was foul play, suspecting that the victim might have been harmed before dying at the hospital.

Authorities encouraged witnesses and those with knowledge about the incident to assist in the investigation.

For now, the barangay hopes to achieve justice not only for the victim but also for all residents striving for peace and safety in their community. JPC
