Davao HRSMA: Partnerships key in elevating Davao’s hospitality

NEWLY-INDUCTED Davao Hotels/Resorts Sales and Marketing Association, Inc.(HRSMA) president Flordeliza Gamo said collaboration and shared knowledge within the association are vital in elevating Davao Region’s hospitality industry.

In her acceptance speech on Monday, July 10 during the induction ceremony of the new set of Davao HRSMA officers at the Seda Abreeza Hotel, Gamo emphasized that members should continue to leverage the power of their network and keep exchange of best practices.

“By fostering a culture of knowledge exchange, learning from both successes and failures, we can collectively overcome barriers and drive the transformation needed to stay ahead in an ever-evolving industry,” she said.

“We also intend to expand the industry partnerships to provide an increase in networking opportunities through exposures, exhibits, travel fairs, conferences, and workshops. These platforms will allow in learning from industry leaders, gain insights into emerging trends, and foster meaningful connections, fostering growth and innovation,” she added.

New officers, members take oath

After almost three years, Davao HRSMA convened anew on Monday to induct new officers and welcome new hotel members of the association for the 2023-2024 term.

Former Davao HRSMA president and Davao City Tourism Operations Office - OIC Jennifer Romero led the induction and oath-taking ceremony.

Romero said the city and the association had a shared vision of boosting tourism growth in Davao City through undertaking initiatives that will attract visitors and promote the city as a thriving tourist destination and generate revenue.

This year's theme, “Sparked Up: Davao HRSMA Comeback” signifies the full effort of the hotel and resorts sector to recover from the negative impacts of the pandemic.

“Our association represents a powerful community that is at the forefront of generating revenues and delivering excellence in sales and marketing within the hospitality sector. Together, let us build a strong community of professionals, dedicated to excellence in the field of marketing.” Gamo shared.

The new set of officers are Gamo (Park Inn by Radisson Davao) as president; Francis Gevin Morales of Discovery Samal (Vice President); Jessica Segura of Chemas by the Sea (secretary); Jeline Gison-Galagar of Eden Nature Park and Resort (treasurer); Rayanne Arao of Rogen Inn (Member Officer); Ariesha Faith Dimaano of Dusit Davao Hotels and Resorts (Ways and Means officer); John Adrian Banuno of Seda Hotels Abreeza (Public Relations Officer); and Ronan Pangramuyen of Club Samal Resort (Programs and Trainings officer).

The association also welcomed members - Rogen Inn, Villa Amparo Garden Beach Resort, Sans Hotel at Luxebridge Davao, Crown Regency Residences Davao, Bali Bali Beach Resort, Catigan Mountain Breeze Resort, and Discovery Samal. (AJA)
