“THIS love is made in heaven kay una sa tanan ang Ginoo nag-buot ani.”
That’s what Reverend Father Rolando O. Mandreza, DCD said during the homily of Anita Lorin’s and Marlowie Gallardo’s wedding last July 18, 2019 at St. Jude Thaddeus Parish in Malvar, Davao City.
Each of them carrying stories of painful heartbreaks in their pasts, Anne and Marlowie could say they found each other on love’s perfect timing. The society may have a standard ‘marrying age’, preferably before reaching 30. Anne and Marlowie may have taken their time enjoying singlehood but regret nothing as they say the wait is really worth it.
Friends and family of the couple were equally excited and happy for the unity of two hearts. Many came from different places only to celebrate and witness their love unfold and unite together.
The parish was filled with the colors of pastel pink hues from the bridesmaid’s gowns and the clumps of white flowers arranged beautifully on the arch by the church entrance and by aisle. Many were touched when Starr, Marlowie’s daughter, came walking down the aisle with a huge heart bearing the words “Here Comes the Bride”. With their times together, Anne and Starr had already been very close and fond of each other.
The couple also walked down the sword arc welcome of the cadet-friends of Marlowie, him being a seaman himself.
In the reception at the Apo View Hotel, many were in awed of how Tanza Noel Golden Touch, the decorator of the wedding, was able to transform the ballroom into a wedding-perfect vibe design.
The most emotional part of the reception was when Anne had her dance with her Papa Loloy, as she lovingly calls him. When she became teary-eyed, the rest of her close friends felt for her and were equally happy that she is finally saying goodbye to singlehood and found the love for her.
Anne and Marlowie’s love story proved that there is indeed no deadline for love. It comes when it’s time and ready.
