(Foreword: This is the continuation of our response to Eva 2021 on some issues about Covid-19 which she wanted to clarify.)
DEAR Eva 2021,
Now, moving on to your third issue, on whether you can rinse the virus if you rinse your throat and nose with saline water. Sorry, but, sad to say, there is no proof of that. This is a myth and probably from alternative ways of using saline water in treating common cold. But, this wouldn’t work with Covid-19 infections.
On your next question, on whether you can still have the vaccine even if you have allergies to food and drugs. Of course. It is only when you have serious allergic reactions to any substance found in Covid-19 vaccine that you can’t get the shot. Otherwise, you will be fine.
Now, on whether these Covid vaccines don’t work with the new strains and whether these vaccines can make you get Covid-19. The truth is, living things evolve. And so do viruses. In fact, scientists have found various Covid-19 strains all over the globe, spanning the U.K., South Africa, India and Brazil. So, we can expect more Covid-19 strains coming in. We can just expect for the worst and hope for the best. At this time, scientists are still studying if the Covid-19 vaccines work against these mutations. But, studies have shown that if you are vaccinated, you can still be protected against Covid-19 variants.
And, oh, the vaccines will not make you sick with Covid-19, as none of the Covid-19 vaccines have live viruses in them.
