Safe, stylish haircuts in SM

GETTING your hair done these days is going to be a tad different from how salon trips used to be. With safety as a priority, sanitation measures are being put in place to keep everyone healthy while getting cuts, colors, or curls.

Here’s what you need to keep in mind when visiting your favorite barber or hairdresser:

1. Appointments first - Calling to book a session saves you the hassle of having to wait for your turn in the salon. Appointments also help salons manage the number of people inside their premises and promote social distancing. Limited entry to salons may also mean restriction to companions.

2. Standard protocol - Customers are required to go through standard safety measures before entering. These include temperature checks, wearing face masks, and the use of hand sanitizers. Some salons also require clients to fill out a health form.

3. Limited capacity - With salons working with the guidelines set by the government (including operations at half the capacity), you can have a different and careful pace of barbers and hairdressers to ensure that safety measures are followed and in place.

4. PPEs for all - Policies on mandatory wearing of face masks will remain in place to keep you and salon staff safe.

5. Option to bring your own tools - Salons continue sanitizing their tools in between use as they have done so in the past—it is part of their operating procedures! However, you have the option to bring your own shear sets for added confidence. Expect single-use salon capes, too!

6. Cashless payments please - To limit unnecessary physical contact, salons are promoting cashless transactions to seal the deal.
