I HAVE always been a fan of homemade skincare products. Not only are they cheaper, they also make your skin soft and glowing. Finding the right product may seem hard knowing that there are over hundreds of beauty brands to choose from in the market.
Last month, I discovered a skincare brand based in Cebu. To my surprise, their products are really effective, and it helped solve some of my skin problems such as dryness and uneven skin tone.
Beauty Bum, a sustainable beauty store owned by a full-time mom and entrepreneur, Alyssa Huang, empowers women by helping them achieve the best skin at any age. The brand continues to lure more customers with their vast array of merchandise.
“From moisturizers to lipsticks, cc cushions to face masks, we cover almost everything a woman needs to keep herself fresh and blooming,” Huang said.
True to their mission, I tried the no-pore-ever cleanser, and it has been included in my daily stash since then. I also use their girl gang lip tint at work because it gives the lips a perfect hue without drying it.
With over six pop-up retail stores nationwide, the brand continues to grow and become known. Among its locations include GF Chains Town Center, Gov. M. Cuenco Ave. and GF Emporium, Rama Ave. in Cebu City. You can also buy their products at Elyn's Make-up Bar at the Gaisano Mall of Tagum, Cube Bazaar SkinWhite Desire at Abreeza Mall Davao and 7th Heaven Boutique at Sandawa Phase 3, Kidapawan City.
“Just recently, we teamed up with Giltbox and opened a shop at the U.P. Town Center in Quezon City. Hopefully this year, we expect to have more extensions,” she said.
Their products, coiled in cute and artsy packaging, are all-natural and homemade.
“I have a thing with concocting and experimenting natural ingredients. Our products are strictly based from fruit and vegetable extracts making it gentle and soothing to the skin. It became my turning point to build my own brand,” Huang said.
One of their bestselling items, the No Pore Ever Cleanser, comes with a heart-shaped brush that allows you to scrub the face while washing it.
Huang said their highly-prized products include the tomato serum, cc cream, watermelon lotion, tomato face mask and their collection of lip tints and balms. One good thing about it is it doesn't cost much. For only P250 pesos, you can have an amazing skin.
