President Rodrigo Duterte can be the toughest president the country has seen. But there is one who softens him up quickly: his youngest daughter, Veronica Avanceña Duterte.
Although Veronica or Kitty was once a normal high school student, it’s different now. Among others, she has to live with all the bodyguards around her and all the attention thrown her way.
She went from worn-out shirts and sneakers to designer leggings and very formal sleeves and not being able to go out of the house without a stylist’s approval.
What’s the most challenging part as daughter of the President and how does she deal with it?
“Before, I used to get really mad when they say stuff against me or my family but through time, I learned that negative commenters feed on every attention you give them, so I just ignore them.”
But she’s a Duterte. She’s feisty.
A popular blogger once tweeted: “If you ever voted or supported Duterte before but you’re regretting it now, then I’m proud of you.” Kitty tweeted in response, “If you just thought of showing your thin assed body on social media, decided to make nonsense videos and all that irrelevant stuff most people nowadays do, but you’re regretting it now and you’re planning to do something that actually helps, then perhaps I can say I’m proud of you.”
Does she see herself in politics?
“Seeing how my father goes through very complicated things on a daily basis gives me the impression that politics is very stressful. I kind of want to have a deviation from that lifestyle.”
“I’m torn between becoming a lawyer or a businessman. I like to prove my point and steer clear of issues. I also love to copy my mother. She handles a few businesses and it amazes me how she makes more out of a handful.”
Kitty loves to drown in teen drama Riverdale and even identifies with Veronica Lodge. She would also go fangirling over Autotelic and young stuff her other friends are obsessed with.
“I just want to live a happy life.”
