BARANGAY 3-A has been classified as "high risk" barangay in Davao City in Covid-19 transmission, while 11 others were classified as "moderate risk" barangays.
According to the Davao City Barangay Risk Classification from July 18 to 23, Barangays 4-A, 11-B, 14-B, 16-B, 18-B, 20-B, 33-D, A. Angliongto, Sr., Gov. Paciano Bangoy, Mabuhay, and Mudiang were classified as moderate risk.
Barangay 3-A has reported an average daily attack rate (Adar) of 33.22.
In epidemiology, the attack rate is the percentage of an at-risk population that contracts a disease during a specified time interval.
According to the Adar of the 11 barangays, its average rate is between six and 10.
Based on the weekly Covid-19 tracker of the city, its active cases increased from 155 in July 9 to 220 in July 16.
Based on the July 16 data, the majority or 58.18 percent of the cases are asymptomatic, while 82 or 38.64 percent of the cases are mild, while the rest are moderate and severe. No critical cases were recorded. Two deaths were recorded for the past week.
Davao City's alert level status remains at Alert Level 1 until July 31 after the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) did not provide the updated list on July 15, the supposed level status of the entire country lapsed.
Davao City Covid-19 Task Force spokesperson Dr. Michelle Schlosser said the hospitalization rate in the city remains low despite rising cases in Metro Manila.
Schlosser said this is mostly because Covid-19 cases remain low and majority of patients are home isolated while some are admitted to Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility (TTMF) due to the mildness of the cases.
She said the TTMF currently has a less than ten percent occupancy rate while the admission rate at the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) is not alarming. RGL
