AN officer of the Philippine Army vehemently denied the destabilization plot against the government that circulated through texts and social media over the weekend.

Captain Mark Anthony Tito, spokesperson of the 10th Infantry Division bared that the rumor on destabilization came after the police declared a red alert after they were called to file a courtesy resignation by the Department of the Interior and Local Government due to their alleged involvement on illegal drugs.

He denied the rumor and stressed that the military is a professional organization and would adhere to the chain of command all the way to the chief of staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines under General Centino and to the President of the country as the commander-in-chief.

Tito assured that the morale of the troops is high and they are focused on the mandate of protecting the citizenry.

“Kung mangutana mo kung diin gikan ang sulti-sulti nga destabilization, wala mi kasayuran. Dili ni tinuod ug nagasuporta kami sa among liderato. Our loyalty is to the Philippine Flag, the Philippine Constitution and whoever [is installed] as leaders of the country, we will support them. We are united with the AFP, the Philippine Army in supporting the leadership,” he said.

Tito reiterated that the morale of the troops is unaffected because the rumor is not true.

He said no one was seen spearheading to do unlawful activities while the troops in the 10th ID are busy protecting the people.

Tito stressed that even Major General Nolasco Mempin, commander of the 10th ID prodded the troops not to lose sight in preserving the peace and protecting the people in their area of responsibility.

“The 10th Infantry Aguila Division is a professional organization and follows lawful order only,” he said. PIA
