Albayalde to cops: No drinking in police stations

AS HOLIDAY season draws near, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Oscar Albayalde warns policemen to not have drinking sessions at the police stations.

“Unang una, yong mga party yong mga kakain lang it’s not prohibited. What we prohibit inside the station is drinking, ‘yong umiinom dahil hindi maganda makita ng mga kababayan natin lalung lalo na mga complainants na papasok sa different police stations at nakikita ang mga police yong mga police natin na umiinom ng intoxicating liquor,” he said during a press conference on November 6 during the opening of the 2nd National Swat challenge in Davao City.

However, he added that parties are allowed as long as there would be no alcoholic beverages involved.

“Kaya yan ay mahigpit nating pinagbabawal, yong pagkain or mag party walang problema yan since within the office lang pero yong mag-inom bawal na bawal po yan,” he further said.

Meanwhile, he likewise reminded the PNP personnel against soliciting and receiving gifts from business establishments as it is prohibited under Presidential Decree 46. Sanctions await a personnel should he or she found guilty of violating the law.

“Matagal na po yan ang pag so-solicit even not only probably with the Philippine National Police (PNP) but I know pati yong ibang mga government agencies. Bawal na bawal mag solicit even yong tumatanggap ka bawal yan that is against the ethic of government employees,” Albayalde said.
