AT LEAST 15 students in a national school in Digos City, Davao del Sur, were affected by what was described as possession by an evil spirit on Monday morning, Monday, September 25, 2023.
Disturbing images shared on Facebook by Ry Llanes depicted these students lying down, receiving assistance from rescuers.
The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) promptly responded to investigate the situation. Witnesses reported that following the flag ceremony, some students engaged in fights, uttered unintelligible words, and emitted loud screams.
While some students reacted with fear, others came to the aid of their afflicted classmates.
Eventually, the students in distress were relieved and provided with counseling, spiritual guidance, and necessary medical attention.
SuperBalita Davao attempted to contact the school for comment via phone but was unsuccessful.
It is worth noting that a similar incident had occurred in the same school in previous years, with one alleged cause being the removal of a large tree from the school grounds. JPC
