THE Princess of Bahrain - Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Khalifa Al Khalifa arrived in Manila yesterday morning en route to Davao City to kick off the opening of the Global Women Empowerment Summit (GWES) at the Waterfront Insular Hotel Davao on September 24 to 25, 2022.

She is also scheduled to meet top businesswomen, women government officials, and sponsors of the summit.

The summit seeks to promote women empowerment and Sheikha Jawaher holds a special interest in helping livelihood for women and promulgating youth empowerment in the region.

This is her first time here after the earlier date for the summit in June was canceled due to unforeseen circumstances. She intends to scout around for opportunities in the region where investors from Bahrain may be interested. She has expressed her intention to help promote inbound tourism.

Global Women Empowerment Summit is a Dubai-born and based women empowerment event that focuses on promoting the welfare and rights of women to have a better life and to be the best versions of themselves.

Among the speakers at the opening on September 24 is Sun.Star Davao Associate Publisher Stella A. Estremera where she will speak on women empowerment by empowering others. The summit features a power cast of speakers, it being the only women empowerment gathering initiated so far.

After the Davao Summit, Sheikha Jawaher will also be gracing the Manila leg of the GWES ON October 1 at The Tent in Enderun, McKinley Hill and on October 3, at the Okada Manila. (SunStar Philippines)
