BIDDING for the supply of diesel and procurement of electric buses for the Davao Public Transport Modernization Project (DPTMP) is set, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) said.

DOTr said the opening of bids for contract packages 05 and 06 will be held at the Conference Room, Unit 61, 6th Floor, The Columbia Tower, Ortigas Avenue, Barangay Wack-Wack, Mandaluyong City on April 28, 2023, at 10 a.m.

The Invitation for Bids for the contract was announced on March 30, 2022 on DOTr’s website while the Pre-Bid Conference was conducted on April 8, 2022.

DOTr said interested parties who would like to take part in the bidding are advised to visit their website for the requirements.

Meanwhile, DPTMP also known as the High Priority Bus System Project (HPBS) is an initiative of the former Davao City Mayor and former President Rodrigo Duterte in 2018.

The project aims to modernize public transportation in the city.

The allocated fund for the project was P80 billion – around 60 percent will be loaned by the national government from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), while the remaining 40 percent will come from DOTr.

With the implementation of the project, all existing jeepneys and multicabs in the city will be replaced by roughly 1,000 modern buses.
