DAVAO DEL NORTE — Around P700,000 was stolen from an overseas Filipino worker (OFW)'s residence in Purok 2B, Brgy. Igagon, San Isidro province.

Ireneo Medina Antonio, a 57-year-old former OFW in that area, owns the house.

As reported, the incident occurred at 10:30 p.m. on Monday, August 28, 2023. The victim visited the San Isidro Municipal Police Station to file a report.

The San Isidro Police, led by Police Major Raul M. Lucas, the acting Chief of Police, promptly responded to investigate the incident.

Initial findings indicate that unidentified individuals forcibly broke the window grills to gain access to the victim's residence.

Once inside, they managed to remove a vault containing P700,000 in cash and various sets of jewelry.

In a subsequent police operation, the stolen vault was discovered in the basement near the victim's house.

Regrettably, the vault had been forced open, resulting in the theft of the money and a valuable watch. However, other pieces of jewelry were left behind within the vault.

Efforts are underway by the San Isidro Police to locate the unknown thieves to apprehend and charge them accordingly. DTV
