Newly-elected Senator Camille Villar has expressed her deep gratitude to Vice President Sara Duterte for her vital support during the recent May 12 national elections, which Villar described as instrumental in her successful Senate bid.
“Maraming maraming salamat, VP Inday Sara, for standing with me all the way. Your friendship and support—both personal and political—mean the world to me and my family,” Villar said in a statement released Saturday.
She also reaffirmed her longstanding bond with the Vice President, saying, “Walang iwanan, just like we’ve always promised each other. Here’s to standing together for the country and the people we’ve both pledged to serve.”
The senator-elect also extended thanks to her family, campaign team, and supporters who rallied behind her throughout the 90-day campaign period.
Villar, who is entering the Senate for the first time, vowed to be a strong and principled voice in the upper chamber. She promised to uphold the ideals she campaigned on and to work tirelessly to uplift the lives of ordinary Filipinos.
“I will not disappoint,” she pledged. “I will stay true to my word and fight for the dreams of every Filipino.”
Villar’s entry into the Senate marks the continuation of her family’s long-standing presence in Philippine politics, with her sights set on making a meaningful impact through fresh leadership and a renewed commitment to public service.
