DAVAO Region has remained insurgency-free.

"We are happy to announce that the whole of Region 11 is still insurgency-free. There have been no violent or non-violent incidents perpetrated by the NPA communist terrorists," said Division Public Affairs Office chief Major Mark Anthony Tito of the Philippine Army's 10th Infantry Division (10ID)

He attributed this success to the sustained whole-of-nation approach, preventing Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) activities or sightings in the region.

During the AFP-PNP Press Corps Southern Mindanao Media Forum, May 31, Tito said they are anticipating the celebration of insurgency-free anniversaries for Davao de Oro and Davao del Norte around June, this year., following the celebration in Davao City and Davao del Sur on May 24 and 25, respectively.

Meanwhile, he revealed that the Army's Division here earned a superior rating of 91.88 percent in the Philippine Army Annual General Inspection, which concluded on May 30, 2023.

The inspection evaluated the soldiers' operational readiness, mission accomplishments, resource management, leadership, morale and welfare, and discipline, law, and order.

The Inspector General of the Philippine Army commended the impressive rating for a major unit like the 10ID, especially given their successful mission to clear their area of responsibility from the insurgency.

In addition to the 10ID, 27 other offices under the Division, along with subordinate units and operational control units, were also awarded and achieved ratings of up to 95.99%, which is also considered superior.

The continued peace and stability in Davao City and surrounding regions demonstrate the effectiveness of the whole-of-nation approach and the outstanding performance of the 10ID. (PIA Davao)
