HIGHLIGHTING the products of Davao City’s cacao farmers and the beauty of Dabawenyo’s crafts making industry, the first edition of Artisan Food and Cacao Market in Rizal Park, Davao City was launched in celebration of the 86th founding anniversary of the city.

With over 30 carts and stores participating, the exhibit will be one of the new events for the Araw ng Dabaw’s first face-to-face celebration after the pandemic.

The Artisan Food and Cacao Market formally opened on Thursday afternoon, March 2, at the Rizal Park in Davao City. The food exhibit will be open from 5 p.m. to 12 midnight, and will run until Sunday, March 5.

Participating food companies and organizations include Nutrarich, Humble Coffee and Ice Cream, Malagos Homegrown, Psalms Coffee and Pastry, Isemcafe, among other Davao local brands.

"It's a great opportunity for us to showcase Davao-made chocolate products to other people and let them know our local delicacies," Lily Fer Susas, cacao vendor, said in vernacular.

Meanwhile, tourists and locals were entertained by the Hugyaw Dabaw show which was held Friday night, March 3, at the San Pedro Square, just nearby the food exhibit.

Despite road closures, people flocked to enjoy the variety show performances by Davao artists including Lady Bam, Maan Chua, Madayaw Ensemble, several local rock bands such as Broken Notes, Koldash Band, and High Spirit band, among others.
