THE Davao City Police Office (DCPO), Task Force Davao (TFD), and other security forces declared the successful staging of the city-wide community exercise (Comex).

Comex was conducted Wednesday afternoon, August 9, 2023, aimed to gauge the responsiveness, awareness, and dedication of Dabawenyos to the city's "Pag may nakita, Dapat magsalita" campaign.

The Comex was executed spontaneously, with the involvement of various individuals brought to the attention of authorities by vigilant citizens. Notably, 911 fielded four calls concerning suspicious persons and unattended bags, while additional reports were contributed by security personnel, vendors, street cleaners, and hotel staff.

Upon reporting the "suspicious" individuals and objects, the authorities promptly considered them "neutralized."

TFD Commander Colonel Darren E. Comia thanked his personnel and DCPO for the successful Comex. He particularly praised the swift response of both the community and security forces to the presence of potential threats.

"Despite unannounced, the response of the community, the Dabawenyos, and the security forces are commendable. With a 100 percent reporting rate of suspicious-looking individuals and/or unattended baggage during the Comex, we can say that the culture of security in Davao City is alive," Comia said.

The 14 "actors" disguised as terrorists were discreetly dispatched to various locations, encompassing six hotels or inns, four parks, two business establishments, one mall, and one public gathering space.

These chosen sites are pivotal venues for the upcoming Kadayawan events, including the Indak-Indak sa Kadayawan and the Pamulak sa Kadayawan.
