Davao cops test negative for drug use

DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) said none of their personnel tested positive during the mandatory surprise drug test Wednesday, July 25, sustaining their clean record for the past years of zero cops involved in the narcotics trade.

DCPO director Police Senior Superintendent Alexander Tagum said this regular drug testing activity was developed as part of their continued internal cleansing campaign to weed out erring cops.

Around 160 personnel of DCPO who were subjected to a surprise drug test yesterday morning headed by Tagum together with the Command Staff, Officers, Station Commanders and all Drug Enforcement Unit of DCPO at their Conference Room.

“The aforesaid activity is in line with our advocacy on effective and faithful compliance on internal cleansing,” he said.

This only shows how the Davao cops adhere to the call of the President for a drug-free country, Tagum said.

Aside from strengthening their war on drugs, targeting drug suspects, they are also intensifying their anti-illegal drug campaign among their organization.

A law enforces who tests positive will face administrative and criminal complaints and this will be a ground for dismissal from service.
